GLOUCESTER, Mass. — A serious crash is under investigation in Gloucester, according to first responders.
Sky 25 was over the four miles of stopped traffic stemming from a crash scene near Grant Circle.
The cars had been cleared by 2 p.m. but the traffic remained stopped as crews worked to clean up the crash scene.
According to the Gloucester Fire Department, two cars rolled over in the crash and one had a ruptured fuel tank. That leak triggered the shutdown of the road for extensive cleaning.
Three people were taken to Beverly Hospital with serious injuries. Police say they are expected to survive.
