FALMOUTH, Mass — Falmouth Police are investigating a crash that killed a 70-year-old man.

On July 4 right before 8 a.m., Falmouth Police and Falmouth Fire Rescue responded to the report of a motor vehicle crash in the area of 120 Sippewissett Rd.

Upon arrival, responders located a single vehicle overturned resting against a tree.

According to police, a 2019 Ranger Rover was traveling south on Sippewissett Rd when it lost control on a curve and left the roadway. The vehicle rolled over into a ravine and came to rest against a tree.

The driver, a 70-year-old male was the only person trapped inside the vehicle. He was extricated by mechanical means

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene due to injuries from the crash.

The identity of the driver has not been released.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
