Former New England Patriot Patrick Chung charged in domestic assault case

QUINCY, Mass. — Former New England Patriots safety Patrick Chung faced charges in Quincy District Court Tuesday.

Court officials told Boston 25 News Chung is facing charges for assault and battery on a family member, along with vandalizing property after he was arrested in Milton on Monday.

According to court documents, Chung was involved in an altercation with the mother of one of his children. He’s accused of hitting her several times. He’s also charged with damaging her phone. Prosecutors say they have “significant concerns” about the woman’s safety.

Chung was released and is due back in court in January.

This follows after Chung was not prosecuted in 2020 for a charge of cocaine possession in New Hampshire that stemmed from an incident in Laconia, N.H. on June 25, 2019.

Chung announced his retirement from the NFL back in March 2021 after 11 seasons and three Super Bowl rings.
