HEAT AND HUMIDITY CONTINUE
Yesterday Boston hit 93 degrees - it won’t be as hot today, but still well above average. Plan on upper 80s with high humidity. A front will slowly cross the area, leading to partly to mostly cloudy skies. That front will also be the focus for few showers or thunderstorms, mainly over southeastern MA. At this point, coverage looks limited, so many towns will stay dry. If a storm does develop, it will produce brief downpours and lightning before moving through. A few lingering showers are possible early Saturday morning far south, but they should move offshore quickly.
WEEKEND IN VIEW
Saturday will run partly sunny and nice with a drop in humidity levels. Sunday will be even brighter. Highs in the lower 80s are right on target for early-mid July. A light onshore breeze will keep the beaches and Cape Cod slightly cooler in the 70s.
The break from the humidity won’t last long. Warmer, more humid air returns early next week with highs in the 90s by next Tuesday.
