A witness captured terrifying images of a driver headed in the wrong direction for miles on Route 3, and now that driver will head to court Monday to faces charges of OUI and resisting arrest.
Andrew Delano was headed south from Chelmsford on Route 3 around 4:30 a.m. Sunday when he recorded video of several Massachusetts State Police troopers speeding past him, and an SUV headed south in the northbound lanes.
Delano said he noticed the driver dodge at least 10 vehicles, most of which could have been head-on collisions.
State police were able to use stop sticks in the driver’s path to blow out his tires.
“There were sparks,” Delano said. “You could see debris. You could see as the tires were kind of shredding. So, you could see that. It was pretty awesome to see and dangerous, too, at the same time.”

State police arrested David McNee and charged him with OUI, resisting arrest, damaging property and driving the wrong way on a highway.
In court on Monday, McNee's attorney told the judge his client has no criminal record and this was his first OUI charge.
