BILLINGS, Mont. — You can go home again.
Winning the St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway in Montana was extra special for Janet Sanchez.
Sanchez, who was announced the winner of the Billings raffle on Thursday, won the home she lived in as a child, KULR reported. Sanchez said she lived in the home until she was 5 years old.
Sanchez bought the ticket when the promotion began and was chosen from more than 4,000 entries, the television station reported.
Sanchez said winning the contest was surreal, but it being her childhood home was even more special.
“The first time I’m here alone, I’ll just walk around and just have memories of being here,” Sanchez told KULR. “I can’t wait to bring my siblings here and have them share stories with me because they were older than I was.
“Yeah, it’s a dream. It’s a dream home.”
Money raised from the raffle tickets went toward St. Jude’s cancer research, which benefits pediatric patients. The contest in Montana raised $447,600, KULR reported.
