HAMPTON, N.H. (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) – Two pedestrians were transferred to the hospital on Tuesday after a motor vehicle lost control on Ocean Boulevard in Hampton, N.H., and careened onto the sidewalk.
According to police in Hampton, N.H., the accident occurred at approximately 2:20 p.m. on Ocean Boulevard in front of the Hampton Beach Casino complex located at 169 Ocean Boulevard.
The preliminary investigation indicates that Yvan Lafont, 49, of Dracut, Mass., was traveling north on Ocean Boulevard when he lost control and side-swiped a vehicle parked in the loading zone. His vehicle continued north striking a second vehicle that was in traffic.
After making contact with the second vehicle, he veered towards the complex, went up onto the sidewalk, and struck two pedestrians before hitting two columns.
The pedestrians suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to Portsmouth Regional Hospital.
Lafont and his passenger, Lucilley Dinsmore, 60, of Lowell, Mass., were transported to Exeter Hospital.
Dinsmore suffered serious internal injuries and was transported to Beth Israel Hospital in Boston.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
