NEWBURYPORT, Mass. — The Newburyport Police Department is investigating a bank robbery at a Santander Bank.
The robbery occurred on Wednesday afternoon around 4:30 p.m. at the Santander Bank located at 45 Storey Ave.
Upon arrival on scene, officers were told the suspect entered the bank and demanded money from the teller.
The suspect fled the bank with an unknown amount of cash through the parking lot. That suspect is described as a man wearing a medical mask, sunglasses and a camouflaged hooded jacket.
The Salisbury Police Department K9 unit was brought in for mutual aid, but police were unable to find the suspect.
Assistance with the search was provided by police from Massachusetts State Police, North Eastern Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council and officers from Salisbury, Amesbury, Newbury, Georgetown and West Newbury.
The Newburyport Police Department is asking anyone who has information about the robbery or suspect to call Inspector Christopher McDonald at 978-462-4411.
