Milton native juggles teaching and modeling

(MyFoxBoston.com) -- A Milton native has managed to successfully juggle what he calls two very hectic careers -- teaching and modeling.

Sam Worthen, an eighth-grade teacher in Brooklyn, New York told People Magazine that teaching has been on his mind since he was 14.

Worthen graduated from Brown University last June and moved to New York to start his teaching career. A few months later, he was approached by a modeling agent and eventually signed by RED NYC.

The middle school teacher told the magazine that, while he likes modeling, teaching remains his number one priority. Worthen models under his mother's maiden name, which helps keep his two lives as separate as possible. He says he doesn't think his students know of his side job.

Though Worthen said he tries to avoid missing class at all costs, the school's February break allowed him to walk in four runway shows during New York Fashion Week.
