Man dies after being hit by commuter line train in Lowell

LOWELL, Mass. — MBTA Transit Police say a man hit by a train in Lowell Thursday night has died.

Police were called to the area of Lundberg and O’Neil street around 11:45 p.m. to investigate reports of a person who may have been hit by a train on the Lowell Line.

The investigation showed that an unidentified 28-year-old man was hit while trespassing on the right of way by an outbound train.

He was pronounced dead as a result.

The investigation is continuing but police said foul play is not suspected.
