NORTON, Mass. — Wheaton College’s corpse flower is expected to bloom this week and it comes with a foul smell.
Corpse flowers take years to bloom and each bloom only lasts for about 48 hours.
Brockton’s Enterprise reports this one is expected to happen sometime this week. When it blooms, the plant gives off a smell similar to rotting flesh.
The smells help attract insects and other animals that serve as pollinators.
