Second suspect arrested in connection with lemonade stand robbery

BOSTON — Boston police have announced that a second suspect has been arrested in connection with a robbery of a lemonade stand in South Boston.

Police say that the suspect, a 14-year-old boy, was arrested on violent crime warrants for the robbery. The teen was accompanied by his mother and turned himself in.

The incident occurred last month on June 10th, when Boston police were dispatched to the area of 157 West Ninth Street to reports of an armed robbery.

Once on the scene, officers met with the two victims, two children, who were running a lemonade stand. They told police that the suspects passed by the stand several times before approaching and asking whether they accepted Apple Pay.

Before the children could answer, the suspects allegedly grabbed a box containing cash from the stand. Police say one of the suspects then displayed a black firearm tucked into his waistband before both fled the area.

The first suspect, also a 14-year-old boy, was taken into custody by police on June 12.

Police say that due to the suspect’s age, their identities are being withheld.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates as more information becomes available.
