Boston man brandishing knife tries to rob two girls

QUINCY, Mass. — A Boston man was arrested on November 27th after he tried to rob two female juveniles at knifepoint at the MBTA Quincy Center station, MBTA Transit Police report.

South District Transit Police responded to a report of a robbery around 7:11 p.m. The man, identified as 31-year-old Vernard Shepard, was wearing a homemade ballistic vest and requested money from the two girls. When they refused, Shepard pulled out a large hunting knife and demanded money again. The girls ran away and were able to find help.

Shepard was placed into custody by Transit Police and faces the following charges: Attempted Armed Robbery and Possession of a Dangerous Weapon.
