MELROSE, Mass. — A man in Melrose had to be transported to the hospital after a tree fell down and pinned him to the ground on Monday.
Firefighters say they responded to the Mount Hood gold course for a person struck by a tree early in the evening. The man had been working to clear the tree from the wires when it got caught on his leg, knocking him to the ground.
Severe weather hit the area on Sunday and Monday, leaving tons of debris and damage behind.
Emergency crews transported the man to Mass. General Hospital for treatment of the injuries sustained, but say it took some time for them to clear the area and remove the man from under the tree.
There is no word on the man’s condition.
