NEWINGTON, N.H. — Officials in Newington, N.H. rescued a man who fell into a hole in a salt pile at 372 Shattuck Way in the town, the fire department confirmed to Boston 25 News.
That rescue attempt began after officials were called to the scene just after 1 p.m. That man was rescued around 5 p.m. and was transported to a local hospital as a precaution but is expected to be okay, according to the town’s fire chief. He was believed to be conscious and alert during the search, the fire department said.

The depth of the hole that person fell into is currently unknown. Other local fire departments also assisted in the rescue.
