FBI, Boston Police looking to identify two men in connection to vandalism, setting BPD cruiser on fire

BOSTON — Members of the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Boston Police are seeking to identify two men they say are connected to the vandalism and arson of a Boston Police cruiser.

Investigators are asking for the public’s help in identifying the two men who were seen around the intersection of Tremont Street and Bromfield Street in Boston, Massachusetts on Sunday, May 31, 2020 between 9:30 p.m. and 10:00 p.m.

Officials say the two men may have information on the vandalism and arson of a Boston Police cruiser that happened after peaceful protests in the city turned violent.

The incident happened at 9:25 p.m., when Boston Police officers responding to a call parked their cruiser near Beantown Pub and a Suffolk University building. Soon after, several people vandalized the cruiser, breaking the windows and setting it on fire.

Surveillance footage shows the two men being sought for questioning in connection to the incident.

Based on the footage, officials say one of the suspects appears to be a white or Hispanic man between 5’8” to 6’ tall with a medium build. He wore a white hoodie, red bandana, and grey shorts. The second suspect is described as a Hispanic male, approximately 5’8” to 6’ tall with a medium build. He wore a black t-shirt, black shorts, and a black hat.
