Boston Police investigating after two people hit by car on Commonwealth Avenue

BOSTON — A serious crash involving two pedestrians is under investigation in Brighton, Boston Police say.

Officials told Boston 25 they responded to 1270 Commonwealth Avenue at around 7 p.m. on Monday for reports of a person struck by a car.

Boston Police said one of the victims was taken to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries while the other person sustained non-life threatening injuries.

The driver stayed on scene and is cooperating with police.

Commonwealth Avenue was shut down on both sides between Harvard and Gorham streets while police canvassed the area. The road has since been reopened.
