CHIBA, Japan — A 2-year-old got quite the scare while at a zoo in Japan this week.
A video of the incident shows the toddler standing up at a glass wall, watching the lion on the other side. The lion slowly descends from a rock and lays down in the grass.
As the boy turns around to face his family, the lion runs full speed at the glass before crashing into it, pawing at the boy.
Meanwhile, the toddler nearly falls over from the shock of it all.
KPRC reported that zookeepers said the lion, who weighs over 400 pounds, tends to exhibit that behavior with small children because he wants to play with them.
Glass was installed in the display in April so that visitors can get closer to the lions.
