Gunman in Pamela Smart case to be released from prison in June

CONCORD, N.H. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- On his on his 41st birthday, William "Billy" Flynn, the triggerman in the shocking Pamela Smart case, and her one time teen lover, is set to be released from prison.

Gregg Smart's brother, Dean was at the parole hearing in Concord, N.H. asked that Flynn not stick around after his June release.

"I would appreciate it if he would move out of state for my own safety and my own well-being. And then I'd like it if he did something great with his life."

Flynn took part in the hearing by phone..

He says he's moving to Maine to live with his wife, whom he married while in prison.

His life on the outside, he says, will be challenging.

"I know that when I'm seeking employment these days, the first thing that people do is Google you. So the first thing people learn about me is the worst thing I've ever done," Flynn said.

In 1990, Flynn was 16 years old when he and three friends carried out what prosecutors said was then 22-year-old Pam Smart's plot to murder her husband.

Pam smart admitted seducing Flynn, but claimed to know nothing about his murder.

"He is not the choir boy that he's been painted as all along," Eleanor Pam, a spokesperson for Pam Smart, told FOX25's Sharman Sacchetti.

She calls Flynn a murderer, liar and a thief, and she thinks Pam Smart is innocent.

"It's your contention that because Billy Flynn is being released, Pam Smart should at least be released?" Sacchetti asked.

"Absolutely. There's no question about it. Or at the very least reduce her sentence," Pam said.

At the end of the hearing, Flynn thanked the parole board.

He said he deserved what he got, and he said he never plans to share his story publicly.

"I have no intention of speaking with the media now or ever," he said.

Flynn will get out June 4 after serving 25 years in prison.

Another defendant in the case, Patrick Randall, was serving 28 years to life in prison.  He is up for parole in April.
