BOSTON -- The ex-fiance of a North Andover woman will be charged with murder after she was discovered dead in her basement.

The Essex County District Attorney confirms for Boston 25 News that a murder warrant has been issued for Brian Chevalier, 51, of Merrimack, New Hampshire.

Chevalier was arrested Friday in California for allegedly violating his parole in New Hampshire and a larceny in Massachusetts.

The murder warrant alleges that Chevalier killed Wendi Davidson.

Her body was found Saturday morning in the basement of her home. At the time, police said Davidson appeared to have been strangled and that the murder was not random.

Chevalier is set to appear in front of a judge in California Monday. It's unclear when he will return to Massachusetts to face charges here.
