4th grader wins contest, donates prize to Toys for Tots

PELHAM, NH (MyFoxBoston.com) -- A generous New Hampshire fourth grader won a coloring contest and donated her prize.

At the end of November, 9-year-old Carlee Sloan won a coloring contest sponsored by Market Basket. Her prize was a $50 gift card, which she decided to use to buy toys. However, her intention was not to play with them, but to donate them. She asked her parents to take her to the Pelham Police Department where she could donate everything to Toys for Tots.

To top it all off, the total for the toys came to more than $50. Carlee wanted to pay for all the toys herself, so she used her allowance to cover the difference.

She did have one request after donating the toys: to take a picture with one of the police officers at the station. The Pelham Police Department would like to thank Carlee for the donation and said they are "very proud" of her.
