25 Investigates: COVID testing tools expected at hundreds of Mass. schools

BOSTON — 25 Investigates is working to find out when hundreds of Massachusetts schools will receive their state-supplied COVID-19 testing tools.

The Department of Elementary and Secondary Education said 2,200 schools have applied to participate in the testing program so far.

Late Monday afternoon DESE confirmed for 25 investigates that they are in the process of verifying that schools received their test kits.

About 264 schools began the year without and test kits at all.

Some schools have gone weeks without the supplies.

DESE schools that signed up after Sept. 1 will get their kits by the end of the week.
