Boston 25 Weather

Rain and some snow through Monday

WEATHER ALERT

We’re tracking a messy stretch of weather as we head through tonight and into Monday morning.

Rain continues tonight, with some areas of fog as well. As colder air works in overnight, that rain will start to mix with some sleet and snow in spots by early Monday morning. Roads could turn slippery in some areas, especially where bursts of heavier snow develop.

For most of us, snowfall totals will stay on the lighter side — generally just a coating up to about 1″. However, a few isolated spots could pick up as much as 2″ in any steadier bands of snow.

We catch a break by midday Monday. While a stray flurry or sprinkle can’t be ruled out, much of the day will feature a lull in the action.

That quiet stretch doesn’t last too long, though — another round of light snow moves in Monday night.

REST OF THE WEEK

After that, the pattern improves nicely. Sunshine returns Tuesday with highs in the mid 40s, and we’ll build on that mild trend through midweek. Highs climb into the 50s Wednesday and Thursday.

Our next chance for rain arrives Thursday, although the timing and impact are still a bit uncertain — so we’ll fine-tune that forecast over the next couple of days.
