BLIZZARD OF 2026 RECAP
What just unfolded across Southern New England will be remembered for a very long time. Providence officially measured 37.9″ of snow, shattering its all-time record by 9.3 inches, with even more falling after that report. Boston picked up 16.9″, Worcester 16.0″, and Hartford 11.8″, with a couple more inches having fallen since. Meanwhile, widespread 24–36″ totals blanketed SE Mass and most of Rhode Island. Nearly 300,000 customers in Massachusetts lost power, especially along the South Shore, Cape, and Islands. Roads remain snow-packed and hazardous in many communities, and unless you absolutely need to drive, it’s best to give crews time to clear things out.
NOT COMPLETELY DONE WITH SNOW
Tuesday brings improvement, but it will still feel like winter. Expect bright skies in the morning with temps near 20 degrees, but wind chill will hover between 5-10. Wind will ease during the afternoon with highs in the upper 20s, though it will still feel like the upper teens.
A fast-moving clipper arrives Wednesday morning with light snow. A general 1-2 inches will fall before tapering off during the afternoon. Highs reach the mid 30s, helping roads recover.
The rest of the week features a mix of sun and clouds with highs in the upper 30s. Not quite spring, but a chance to get at least some melting done!
