Tracking a Weekend Storm

Boston 25 Wednesday midday weather forecast

It will feel like December today with temperatures in the 40s this afternoon. Overall it looks mostly cloudy and mostly dry this afternoon with a couple of disturbances passing through in the atmosphere. Since the air is pretty dry, I don’t think much will come of our rain chance. A brief, lonely sprinkle is possible in the greater Boston area with a better chance for a passing shower on the Cape and in the mountains (as a flurry perhaps!).

Skies will clear overnight with lows back in the 30s with some areas of frost. Tomorrow looks like a gem with afternoon sun and highs near 50 degrees. Enjoy the tranquil weather while you can!

Clouds will thicken up Friday with an approaching front. Rain will develop later in the afternoon or evening. Although it won’t be a washout, this is the beginning of our unsettled pattern.

A potent low is expected to pass over New England this weekend. Right now it looks like peak time would be Saturday or Saturday night, but timing is still being fine tuned. Heavy rain and gusty winds are likely with lingering showers and possible snow on the back side Sunday. The storm is still developing, so check back as the big picture comes into focus.
