BOSTON — Wicked winds, with gusts as high as 60 mph in some spots, downed trees and wires overnight across Massachusetts with over 30,000 power outages being reported Friday morning. By 12:30 p.m., about 16,000 were without power.
A few schools had announced delays, due to trees and wires blocking bus routes.

8:55 a.m.: A tree branch sliced through a home in Douglas during last night's storm while the homeowner and his two kids were inside.

8:18 a.m.: The Green Line's D branch is up and running again, according to a tweet from MBTA spokesman Joe Pesaturo. Weather issues are still affecting service on Amtrak from Boston to New York, with service on Acela train 2155 canceled between Boston and Penn Station.

6:35 a.m.: It's a rough ride on the D branch of the Green Line this morning. The MBTA says buses will replace service between Newton Highlands and Kenmore due to a downed tree that took out overhead wires.

6:20 a.m.: Several towns are warning that some roads could be impassible this morning due to downed trees and wires, including Duxbury, Marshfield, Mansfield, Upton and Holliston.
6:15 a.m.: There are currently over 30,000 power outages across the state.
