Ferry service disruptions likely the rest of the week

Ferry service is being impacted this week by severe weather.

On Wednesday, Hy-Line Cruises canceled all high-speed ferry service between Hyannis and Nantucket for the day due to weather.

The Steamship Authority announced it is "extremely likely that ferries will be unable to run" on both the Vineyard and Nantucket routes for most of the day Thursday.

Just before 1 p.m. Thursday, Steamship Authority announced all Nantucket service is canceled.

They also said service disruptions are already being observed on the Nantucket route and "significant disruptions" are possible on both routes on Friday.
