For the first time in a while the Red Sox did not get a good start from Chris Sale but they rally to tie the Toronto Blue Jays and win the game in extra innings at Fenway on a 10th inning walk off Home Run from Christian Vazquez.
Sale struggled through five innings giving up four runs and throwing 101 pitches. On a dreary night, the Red Sox ace did not have good command, control or velocity.
But the Red Sox offense picked Sale up. Trailing 5-1 in the 7th, the Sox rally for three runs. After a Mookie Betts triple they get RBI hits from Andrew Benintendi, Xander Bogaerts and JD Martinez to pull within one run at 5-4.
Then in the 8th after Jackie Bradley Jr. hit a triple, pinch hitter Rafael Devers knocks him in to tie the game at 5-5.
The game would go to extra innings and in the 10th inning, Christian Vazquez hits a walk off two run homer run off Jordan Romano and the Red Sox beat Toronto 7-5.
