Sick bug attacks Patriots locker room, nine players fighting illness

FOXBORO — Nine Patriots players were listed on Wednesday's injury report with an illness and players in the locker room have discussed remaining germ-free with the media.

Patrick Chung, Jamie Collins, Jermaine Eluemunor, Stephon Gilmore, Dont'a Hightower, Ryan Izzo, Joejuan Williams, Isaiah Wynn and Marcus Cannon were all documented as fighting an illness as this week's practices began.

Devin McCourty said he's never seen this many people out in his ten years with the team.

Duron Harmon, Phillip Dorsett and McCourty stressed the importance of players washing their hands and working diligently to make sure the locker room remains as germ-free as it can be.

Dorsett was also carrying a vitamin-enriched beverage and talked about how important it was to get as much vitamin C in the body as possible.

The Patriots are scheduled to travel Saturday to face the Texans in Houston Sunday night.
