BOSTON — The Boston Celtics and G Marcus Smart have reportedly reached an agreement on a four-year extension worth $77 million that will keep Smart in a Celtics uniform through the 2025-2026 season. ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski and The Athletic’s Shams Charania were first to report the news Monday night.
The extension kicks in for the 2022-2023 season after Smart’s current deal, which will pay him over $14 million in the upcoming season, expires.

Smart, the longest-tenured Celtic, has been with the team since Boston drafted him sixth overall in the 2014 NBA Draft. Since then he has appeared in 449 games for the C’s, averaging 10.2 points per game. In his NBA career, Smart has amassed a .376 field goal percentage along with a .320 three-point percentage.
