Opening Day at America’s favorite ballpark

BOSTON — Take me out to the socially-distanced ballgame.

“We know a lot of the fans are anxious to get here because only 12% can come on Opening Day there’s a lot of people who would usually make the pilgrimage here at Fenway,” said Peter Nesbit with Fenway Park.

Take me out with the “substantially reduced” crowd, who will each have their own pods.

“When they head to their seats they are gonna find there are zip ties on their seats – that they are not allowed to sit in – so they’ve go to their actual seat locations – that will define their pod,” said Sarah McKenna with Fenway Park.

Buy me some peanuts and contactless payment cracker jacks, on a limited basis for now.

“To start we will not have the hockers and the in-seat service in the seating area, but they are a great and essential part of the game and we make sure they are back in Fenway Park as soon as possible,” said Nesbit.

For it’s, “six feet apart” at the old ball game, with some plexiglass and plenty of sanitizer.

“Last year was a little weird not having fans and we are ecstatic – of course we want me more and we are ready and able when that time comes,” said McKenna.

Cash will be accepted but contactless payment is preferred.

Anyone over two years old in the park is required to wear a mask except for eating and drinking at your seat.

Thursday will mark the club’s 121st home season, and their 110th at Fenway Park, when the team will face the Baltimore Orioles at 2:10 p.m.
