New High School Football Poll out as Thanksgiving Day games, Super Bowls loom

DEDHAM, Mass. — Ahead of the traditional Thanksgiving Day games, the Boston 25 High School Football Top 10 Poll has updated its rankings in time for Turkey Day.

As they have done for several weeks now, the No. 1 Catholic Memorial Knights (11-0) retained their top ranking after defeating No. 6 Marshfield in the Division 2 Semifinals. The Rams (9-2) fell from the five-spot a week ago to the six this week following the 41-0 loss to CM.

The Marblehead Magicians (10-0) also earned the sixth ranking in our poll this week after tying Marshfield in the number of votes earned in the voting process. No. 6 Marblehead will head to the Division 3 Super Bowl after downing Westfield, 40-7.

The undefeated Knights of CM will square off with No. 4 King Phillip (9-1) in the Division 2 Super Bowl. KP earned their way to the final with a 31-16 win over Milford.

On the Division 1 side will be No. 2 Central Catholic (10-1), who punched their ticket to the Super Bowl with a 35-12 win over No. 5 St. John’s Prep (8-3) in the semifinals. The Raiders will be opposed by Springfield Central, who knocked off No. 3 Franklin (9-1) on the other side of the bracket, 60-49.

While there was a tie at the No. 6 spot, there also were two teams knotted up for the eighth ranking, with Scituate (10-1) and Lincoln-Sudbury (8-1) earning the same number of votes. The Sailors will face No. 10 Duxbury in the Division 4 Super Bowl after they knocked off Grafton, 21-14, in the semis. The Dragons moved past Foxborough, 38-21, to earn their spot in the title game.

Swampscott (11-0), Xaverian (7-3), North Attleboro (7-3), Milford (8-3), Everett (8-1), North Reading (10-1), Rockland (9-1), Abington (10-1), & Foxborough (9-2) all also received votes this week.
