Celtics select Aaron Nesmith with 14th pick in first round of NBA Draft

The Celtics, who entered Wednesday’s NBA Draft with three first round picks, selected Vanderbilt’s Aaron Nesmith with the 14th selection in the first round.

Nesmith, who spent two seasons at Vanderbilt, averaged 23 points per game as a sophomore, shooting 51% from the floor.

“Every kid dreams of this moment since you’re, like, eight-years-old. So to finally be able to sit here with my family and friends and those who are most important to me, it definitely a surreal moment,” Nesmith told ESPN shortly after being selected.

The Celtics have two more picks remaining in the first round and a selection in the second round, as well.
