Yale grad killed in crash remembered by loved ones at funeral

WAYLAND (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) - A Yale University graduate from Wayland who graduated with honors in May was laid to rest on Saturday after being killed in a car crash one week after graduation.

Family and friends gathered at Marina Keegan's funeral in Wayland on Saturday and shared memories about the gifted 22-year-old woman whose life was cut short when the car she was traveling in with her boyfriend crashed.

Marina's life was being celebrated by so many that dozens of people stood outside in the pouring rain in order to listen to the service.

Marina had landed a job at the "The New Yorker" magazine, and according to her teachers and loved ones, that was only the beginning to her success.

Marina's boyfriend, 22-year-old Michael Gocksch, who had also recently graduated from Yale University, is in stable condition.

Police are still investigating the crash, but Massachusetts State Police are saying speed was not a factor.
