Woman and child rescued from Beacon Street fire

BOSTON, Mass. — A woman and child were rescued from a building fire in Beacon Hill on Saturday morning.

At around 6 a.m. Boston firefighters responded to 22 Beacon Street after smoke was seen on the first floor of the four-story building. They were rescued from their third-floor apartment. Businesses occupy the first floor and apartments are on the second through fourth.

One firefighter reportedly suffered minor injuries and was transported to be checked out.

The Boston Fire Department says that damages are estimated at $100,000. Officials are on scene investigating the cause.
