TAMPA BAY, FL. — One Rhode Island couple’s vacation plan took an unexpected but beautiful turn!

When a couple arrived in Tampa Bay to visit some friends and family before going off on a cruise, the woman began experiencing severe abdominal pain. Concerned, they went to a local emergency room seeking answers.

Once there, doctors gave her and her husband some news: she was pregnant and already in labor.

Apparently, neither of them was even aware that they were expecting. According to the mother, she was on birth control and experienced no signs of pregnancy.

The baby, named Sebastian, was delivered shortly afterwards.

Family members have already started joking that his nickname should be “Cruise” after he made his surprise arrival just before his parents were supposed to board their ship.

At the moment, the family remains in Tampa while they sort out his birth certificate and arrange new travel plans home.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates as more information becomes available.
