Whitey Bulger's longtime girlfriend to be transferred to halfway house

BOSTON — Notorious mobster Whitey Bulger's longtime girlfriend, Catherine Greig, is being moved to a halfway house on Cape Cod.

Currently, Greig is being held at a federal facility in Minnesota.

Her attorney tells Boston 25 she will be moved to an unannounced location on Barnstable County on June 19th. Electric monitoring will be done in Bourne.

Greig pleaded guilty back in 2012 to identity fraud and harboring a fugitive. She pleaded guilty in 2016 to criminal contempt for refusing to cooperate with authorities against Bulger.

The 68-year-old is scheduled to be released in September 2020.

According to the Federal Bureau of Prisons, Greig plans on living in Quincy once she is free.
