LEOMINSTER, Mass. — An Uber driver was arrested on 11 different charges after police say he went into a passenger’s home and sexually assaulted her.
On Friday evening, Josue Henriquez, of Acushnet, had picked up two female passengers from a Christmas party and brought them back to their Leominster home. At the destination, Henriquez asked the women if he could come in for a drink and they invited him in.
The next morning, one of the two roommates woke up to see Henriquez was still inside the house and claims he had sexually assaulted her.
The other roommate then fought Henriquez out of the house.
In the process of being thrown out of the house, Henriquez forgot some of his belongings inside. He then broke a plate glass door to be able to retrieve his things and also damaged a car in the driveway.
As Henriquez attempted to drive away, he hit a snowbank and got stuck.
Leominster Police caught up with him while he was stuck in the snow, but Henriquez refused arrest, kicking a few officers in the process. Eventually, Henriquez had to be tasered a few times so police could arrest him.
Henriquez is being charged with sexual assault, indecent battery and assault, attempted breaking and entering in the daytime, malicious destruction of property, resisting arrest and assaulting an officer, among other charges.
A spokesperson for Uber declined to comment on the incident but provided some background information on the matter.
The driver has since been banned from the app as the company continues to investigate the incident.
Henriquez was arraigned on Monday and is being held pending a dangerousness hearing.
