RoboBurger is now in place at the Newport Centre mall in Jersey City, New Jersey. Roboburger, which bills itself as a “restaurant in miniature” in a press release, promises to make restaurant-quality hamburgers from scratch in about six minutes.

In its news release, the company said it plans to sell its machines to airports, malls, colleges, offices and military bases across the U.S. Describing the machine, RoboBurger said it measures 12 square feet, plugs into a traditional wall socket, and contains a refrigerator and automated griddle and cleaning systems.

“I started RoboBurger in my garage 17 years ago, and now there couldn’t be a better time to bring it to life and have everyone experience it,” said Audley Wilson, RoboBurger’s co-founder and CEO, in a statement. “RoboBurger gives everyone freshly grilled, delicious burgers.”

A reviewer for CNET who got a burger from the machine said that you cannot actually see the burger being prepared, though a touch screen shows animations of what is happening inside the machine. After seven minutes and $7 (plus tax), the machine dispensed a simple, if messy, hamburger. RoboBurger told CNET the machine holds 50 patties, and they expect to have someone come through to service it every two or three days.

The current setup at the Newport Centre allows customers to order a classic burger with ketchup, mustard and cheese; or to customize the burger by removing any of those ingredients, NorthJersey.com reported. The machine accepts credit cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay.
