AUSTIN, Texas — Police in Texas are searching for the mother of a newborn baby girl found alone Tuesday in Austin, authorities said.
According to KEYE and KXAN, a resident called 911 shortly after 7:30 a.m. after discovering the infant on the ground near some mailboxes on Rotherham Drive. Emergency crews arrived and rushed the hours-old baby to a nearby hospital in stable condition, the news outlets reported.
Austin police are now seeking the public’s help to track down the mother after the baby’s medical exam raised concerns about the woman’s health and well-being, authorities said.
