Federal officials said they are continuing to receive reports of illness linked to a product recalled in June.
The Food and Drug Administration said in an update that as of Oct. 21, it had received 393 reports and complaints linked to Daily Harvest’s French Lentil + Leek Crumbles frozen product.
In June, Daily Harvest issued a voluntary recall of the product after customers complained of gastrointestinal and liver issues. In July, Daily Harvest CEO Rachel Drori said in a blog post that the company had identified tara flour as the culprit.
Of the nearly 400 patients sickened by the product, at least 133 have required hospitalization, according to Food Safety News.
FDA officials emphasized that even though their investigation into the recall is closed, consumers who may have the recalled product should throw it away immediately. Consumers should not eat, sell, or serve recalled items.
As many as 25 people had their gallbladders removed after they became sick from eating the product, Food Safety News reported.
