MALIBU, Calif. — A dog was rescued from the bottom of a canyon in Malibu, California, Friday evening after missing for about a week, according to rescue crews.
Malibu Search and Rescue Team on Facebook said that at around 7:15 p.m. on Friday, they were contacted about a large dog that had been missing for a week at the bottom of a canyon. The dog was believed to be injured and weak.
According to KTLA, the dog’s family was concerned about the lost dog and didn’t know if he could survive another night on his own.
Rescue crews went out to the area and were able to find the lost dog about 200 feet off the side of the canyon, according to KTLA.
Malibu Search and Rescue Team said it took about a few hours to first make contact with the dog but it was eventually and safely rescued.
Malibu Search and Rescue Team said the dog was in “good spirits” but weak. The dog was then reunited with its family.
