NEW YORK — Three hundred lucky fans got a ticket to ride Friday night at Grand Central Terminal in New York as Paul McCartney gave a "secret" concert, WABC reported. Judging from the crowd's reaction, maybe they were amazed by the show.

Celebrities like Meryl Streep, Kate Moss and Chris Rock were among those in attendance for the rush-hour concert, which the former Beatle used to promote “Egypt Station,” his first solo album in five years.

“This is quite a surprise,” Stephen McLaughlin, 57, waiting for a train to Westchester County, told The New York Post. “He’s an idol. He’s someone I grew up with. I’ve never seen him except on TV.”

McCartney, 76, showed up at the train terminal at 5:30 p.m. The location of the concert had been a secret, but McCartney dropped hints Thursday night when he appeared on the “Tonight Show,” the Post reported.

“It’s a surprise gig, we haven’t been telling anyone, but the album’s title is ‘Egypt Station’ so that might be a little clue there — station,” McCartney told host Jimmy Fallon. “It might be a grand show, I don’t know.”

“Egypt Station,” McCartney’s 17th solo-album, was released Friday, WPIX reported.
