ANDOVER, Mass. — A 16-year-old male has died from injuries sustained in a single-car rollover crash in Andover, according to Mass. State Police.
The crash occurred around 5 p.m. on Saturday afternoon on I-93 North in the town, north of I-495. Police announced on Sunday that the teen passed away; he was from Tewksbury.
UPDATE: @MassStatePolice say the 16-year-old driver involved in a single vehicle rollover crash yesterday on Rt. 93 North in Andover has died. The teens name has not be released, but police say he was from Tewksbury. The investigation is ongoing. #Boston25

Police say he lost control of the 2018 Mitsubishi SUV he was driving before rolling over and crashing into a signpost. The teen was transported to Lawrence General Hospital and later to Lahey Hospital in Burlington.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation by State Police. Andover Fire and EMS assisted State Police at the scene of the crash.
Officials are withholding the victim's name due to his age.
