BOSTON — On Monday, police identified the man who was shot and killed Friday night in Roslindale, the second fatal shooting in the area since last Thursday.
Aderito Barbosa, 35, of Dorchester, was shot to death in the area of 35 Paine Street and died on scene.
Commissioner William Gross and Suffolk County District Attorney Rachael Rollins were at the location of the shooting and said they saw an increase in violence on Thursday and Friday.
Rollins said at the time that she was investigating this and Thursday's shooting that happened less than half a mile away.
"We have had an uptick of activity in the last 24 hours, and we are working with BPD, and we are confident that we are moving forward in the investigation and the others that have happened in the last 24 plus hours," Rollins said.
Police aren't saying whether the two shootings are connected. But they are asking for the public's help. To assist this investigation anonymously, call the CrimeStoppers Tip Line at 1 (800) 494-TIPS or by texting the word ‘TIP' to CRIME (27463).
