SPENCER, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- David Prouty High School students are frustrated with a lack of classroom resources, teacher and administrator turn-over and elimination of after school programs. About 200 students sat in the school gym all Wednesday to protest.

"They need to hear our voice. They need to listen to the concerns of the community. They are more concerned with their own agenda rather than the concerns of the community," said Carter Bemis, a senior student.

FOX25 first investigated the misuse of school funds at David Prouty High School in June; the findings have not yet been publicly released and no one has been charged. A district-wide investigation into the misuse of student activities accounts led to several activity advisers, like show choir and the student council, losing their positions.

Wednesday night, students also protested outside of the school board meeting calling for change. The protest came just a day after members of the teacher's association voted no confidence in Superintendent Nadine Tracey Crowe.

Chairman Kevin Hayes released the following statement Wednesday night, "I am proud of our students for recognizing the importance of their education. They have stood up and declared what they feel they deserve. I understand they conducted themselves in a respectful manner and as a result they will be participating in a meeting tomorrow with  the Superintendent and High School Principle to further advocate for their positions."
