NH man shot while trying to break into sister's Mass. home

DIGHTON, Mass. — A New Hampshire man was shot after he tried to break into his sister’s home overnight.

Police said the incident was reported on Wheeler Street in Dighton.

According to local police, Ronald Whitmore Jr. crashed his car into his sister’s driveway before breaking a sliding glass door.

His sister’s husband then shot Whitmore in the stomach.

Whitmore is now facing breaking and entering charges.

The sister’s husband will not be charged.
