UPDATE: Arrest made in hit-and-run after UMass Amherst student was hospitalized

AMHERST, Mass. — The suspect in connection with the hit-and-run incident that left a 20-year-old UMass Amherst student badly injured was arrested Wednesday night, police said.

The suspect; identified as Jacob Delisle, 20 of Northampton, was arraigned on multiple charges in Eastern Hampshire District Court in Belchertown Thursday and pleaded not guilty.

He was ordered to stay away from the Umass Amherst campus.

The student who was struck late Monday night remains hospitalized at Baystate Medical Center with serious injuries.
