ATHOL, Mass. — An Orange man was killed Monday night after he lost control of his car and crashed head-on into another vehicle traveling in the opposite direction.
Athol police said the unidentified 59-year-old man lost control while negotiating curve near 49 Main St. just before 8:30 p.m., according to police.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the other vehicle was taken to a local hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
Athol police, Orange police and Massachusetts State Police troopers all responded to the scene.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine the man’s cause of death.
The crash remains under investigation.
