LAWRENCE, Mass. — A man accused of shooting and killing a Department of Public Works employee in Lawrence has been arrested, the Essex County DA says.
Ariel Toribio, 20, of Lawrence, was charged on Friday with the murder of 52-year-old Marcos “Tony” Antonio Ruiz.
Ruiz, of Methuen, was shot and killed on Jan. 15 while he had been filling potholes for the city at the intersection of Androver and Clifton streets. Investigators say they do not believe Ruiz was the intended target of the shooting.
Troibio is scheduled to be arraigned on Monday in Lawrence Superior Court.
No further details were made immediately available.
